This is my first espresso machine that falls into the “semi-professional” category, and I’m quite impressed. After some trial and error, I managed to make delicious espresso and cappuccino. The machine feels luxurious and solid, a significant improvement over entry-level machines.
What I like is that, while the Mara X isn’t automatic, its features are quite beginner-friendly; the automatic mode helps maintain the temperature without requiring a lot of adjustments. However, you still need to learn about grinds, dosages, and other techniques.
I gave it 4 stars because the learning curve is quite steep and the price is quite high. But if you’re serious about learning about coffee, it’s a worthwhile investment.

It looks great, the body is sturdy, and the stainless steel finish looks premium.
But after using it for a few days, there are a few things that are quite disappointing. The initial heating time is quite long, and even though the temperature is stable, it’s still good.
It can still produce good espresso, but it takes time and practice. So, I was a little disappointed because my expectations were high, but it could still be a good choice if you’re patient and willing to learn.
